Bishops Urge Strong Action on Climate Change

On Friday, at the closing of the Synod on the Youth, the presidents of Bishops Conferences in Latin America, Asia, Africa, Oceania and Europe signed a joint statement calling for bold action from governments to keep global warming below 1.5C. This statement was directed towards world leaders before the Conference of Parties in Poland this December. Based on the principles of Laudato Si’, this statement highlights that climate change is an issue of intergenerational justice, human dignity and human rights.
