18th June marks the first anniversary of the release of Pope Francis’ encyclical letter Laudato Si’: On Care for our Common Home. To mark this event, the Global Catholic Climate Movement have announced Laudato Si’ week (12-19 June)
Sisters of St John of God in our Chapter Call: “Gaze on the Mystery of our evolving changing universe” recognise the need to respect and care for all God’s creation.
In celebration of the encyclical’s first year, we invite you to join us each day in reflection on elements of the prayer for the Earth, which concludes the encyclical, calling each of us to greater care of the Earth and of each other.
Our reflections comprise:
* A verse and refrain from Laudato Si’
* A short video (1-3 minutes in length) in the form of a reflection, song or story
* An opportunity to share a thought, feeling or prayer in or Prayer Space
