Join us in Prayer During COP23

8 November 2017 | Australia

The 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 23) to the UN Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is underway ( 6-17 November),  focussed on advancing the aims and ambitions of the Paris Agreement and achieving progress on its implementation guidelines.

Our call as Sisters of St John of God is to 'Attend to the ebb and flow of life' and 'Dare to be drawn into harmony with the great dance of life, of God'.

We invite you to join us in prayer each day during COP23, using the prayer guide developed by the Global Catholic Climate Movement (GCCM).

While giving thanks for the pledge by world leaders to act, we recognise the role of each individual in addressing climate change by adopting 'sustainable lifestyles and sustainable patterns of consumption and production' and how this calls each of us to act with respect for the human rights of others and the integrity of all ecosystems.  (Annex Paris Agreement).
